PL-Literacy Strategies for the Secondary Classroom: 2023-2024 (6-12 Instructional) Summer Session: June 13-14, 2023

Participants will learn how to engage students in high-quality text by using approaches intended for before, during, and after reading. Research and evidence around the use of grade-level text will be shared, along with how to ready students for reading the text by setting purpose, priming background knowledge, and preparing the text. Additionally teachers will learn how to choose the appropriate strategy to use during reading and how to engage students in standards-based writing and discussion following the reading task.
