Full course description
Teachers will, through culminating practicum, demonstrate knowledge of the components of reading, as well as assessments and data analysis, to implement a comprehensive research-based
reading plan of instruction for all students. Teachers will engage in the systematic problem-solving process. This course is updated for the current Reading Endorsement Matrix to include
information on dyslexia and systematic, multisensory reading instruction. This is a hybrid course with five face-to-face meetings, participants will be invited to face-to-face courses.
Course dates: November 9, 2026 - January 22, 2027
10 week course
Participants will be invited to a 10-hour face-to-face course, which is mandatory to complete Competency 5.
Face-to-Face dates are 11/17, 12/1, 12/15, 1/5, 1/19 @5:00-7:00 PM
