Participants will engage in the state-mandated course on Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect. This annual training aligns with State Statute 1012.98 and School Board Policy po8462. All MCPS employees are required to complete.

Notes
Objectives for this component may include: a. Participants will be able to define “child abuse” and “child neglect,” according to Florida law. b. Participants will be able to explain what teachers and school personnel must do when they suspect child abuse or neglect. c. Participants will be able to outline the legal responsibility, according to Florida law, of school personnel in reporting suspected child abuse and neglect. d. Participants will learn to identify local community resources that provide help for the child and his/her family. This session is worth 1 training credit upon certificate upload and verification. Extension session for those that did not complete the initial Canvas session.
