Description

This professional learning opportunity will provide school staff working with students with disabilities with the foundational knowledge and understanding of assent and student-centered instruction and behavior intervention. Participants will be able to define and describe assent, give examples and non-examples of what assent may look like across exceptionalities and instructional settings, describe how to assess and teach prerequisite skills necessary for students to understand and participate in assent-based activities, and describe how to apply assent-based practices within a classroom setting.
